As a Senior Engineer of the database team, you will design and develop world class backend database related products and services. Your responsibilities include:
- Understand Gracenote products and services in general, but concentrate on a core subset and understands their interaction with the database.
- Communicate and document database needs and interests to product team and other engineering teams.
- Own important database projects, processes and production operations.
- Design and document database schema and applications
- Develop well-defined portions of source code and adhering to established standards of quality for documentation and coding.
- Anticipate needs and provides alternative approaches and solutions.
- Adapt easily to rapidly changing requirements and priorities.
You will be a key individual contributor in the department and the company. Furthermore, you will often be the go-to person for difficult assignments and solving the issues that arise during "crunch-time". You must be highly self-motivated, creative, and able to deal effectively and successfully with multiple tasks at the same time, while communicate effectively to others in the team.
Your technical responsibilities may also include:
- Evaluate and suggest new tools, techniques and development methodologies to facilitate effective development practices.
- Keep current on industry trends, database technologies, and other relevant areas.
- Insist on highest quality in your own work and that of others.
